Meloni stated: "Words fail in the face of the armed attack on Colombian presidential candidate Miguel Uribe Turbay during a public rally in the capital Bogotá, where his life was put in danger. While I condemn this grave attack on democracy, I express—on behalf of myself and the entire Italian Government—our solidarity with Senator Uribe and his family, and I hope the perpetrators will be fully identified."
