Jerusalem, October 26 (Hibya) - The Israeli army reported that an underground cavity approximately 15 meters deep and 75 centimeters wide had been discovered near the home of one of the attackers during an operation conducted following a clash in Hebron over the weekend.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on social media that an underground cavity had been discovered near the home of one of the attackers involved in the weekend clash during a counterterrorism operation in the West Bank city of Hebron.
According to the statement, the cavity was discovered during extensive searches conducted at more than 500 locations. Preliminary examinations indicated that the cavity was approximately 15 meters deep and 75 centimeters wide, with no apparent exit opening. The Israeli army noted that the cavity was located within the city of Hebron and was not close to any Israeli settlement.
An electronic device found inside the cavity was handed over to security forces for examination, and the investigation into the matter is ongoing.
The operation was reportedly launched following the weekend clash in Hebron, in which Staff Sergeant Ron Yonatan Roytman and Sergeant Yuval Shai Svilam were killed and three other soldiers sustained minor injuries. The Israeli army stated that extensive searches, arrests of suspects and seizures of weapons and illegal equipment were continuing in the area.
