Kallas and UK Foreign Secretary Miliband discuss EU-UK security cooperation
Manila, July 23 (Hibya) - European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas announced that during her meeting with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband, they discussed support for Ukraine, freedom of navigation, developments in the Middle East, and the EU-UK security partnership.
European Commission Vice-President Kaja Kallas met with UK Foreign Secretary Ed Miliband in Manila, the capital of the Philippines.
In her statement following the meeting, Kallas said that cooperation between the European Union and the United Kingdom in foreign policy, security, and defence has become more important than ever.
Kallas noted that there is strong momentum to deepen and accelerate the EU-UK Security and Defence Partnership and congratulated Miliband on his new position.
She added that the meeting covered support for Ukraine, freedom of navigation, the situation in the Middle East, and global geopolitical developments, stressing that the partnership between the EU and the United Kingdom will continue to be strengthened.
