Latin American countries condemned the U.S. attack and called for dialogue
Stockholm, June 22 (Hibya) – Many Latin American countries criticized the United States' attacks on Iran, while others raised alarms and called for peace.
Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel condemned the attacks in a post on X late Saturday and warned that it could expand the conflict in the region.
In his post, Díaz-Canel wrote, “We strongly condemn the U.S. bombing of Iran's nuclear facilities, which dangerously escalates the conflict in the Middle East. This aggression seriously violates the UN Charter and international law and pushes humanity into a crisis with irreversible consequences.”
Chilean President Gabriel Boric also condemned the attack on Iran, writing on X: “We demand peace — and we need it.”
The Venezuelan Foreign Ministry condemned the "military attack on Iran" in a statement.
Colombia’s Foreign Ministry called on all parties to resume negotiations as "the only responsible and lasting path out of the current crisis," while Mexico’s Foreign Ministry wrote on X that “restoring peaceful coexistence among states in the region remains the highest priority.”
