Wellington, March 12 (Hibya) - New Zealand Prime Minister Christopher Luxon announced that he spoke with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, condemning Iran's attacks on the region and emphasizing the importance of returning to diplomacy to prevent the escalation of the crisis.

Expressing his country's clear stance on regional tensions, Luxon said, "I spoke with the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. New Zealand condemns Iran's attacks on Qatar and its Gulf neighbors."
Stating that possible solutions were discussed during the call, Luxon said, "Both countries agreed on the importance of preventing the escalation of this crisis, and I exchanged views with His Highness on returning to diplomacy."
Prime Minister Luxon thanked Qatar for its support, saying, "I thanked His Highness for the way Qatar ensured the safety of New Zealanders during Iran's terrible attacks. New Zealanders who wish to leave now have several options to depart from Qatar."
