Macron: Hezbollah must immediately stop its attacks
Paris, March 4 (Hibya) – French President Emmanuel Macron held phone calls with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam.

Emphasizing that Hezbollah must immediately stop its attacks against Israel and beyond, Macron said: “This escalation strategy is a major mistake and endangers the entire region.”
Macron also stated that he called on Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to preserve Lebanon’s territorial integrity and avoid a ground operation, adding: “It is important for the parties to return to the ceasefire agreement.”
Macron noted that France, together with its partners, will continue its support for the Lebanese Armed Forces, stating that this support aims to help the country fulfill its sovereign duties and contribute to ending the threat posed by Hezbollah.
Macron also drew attention to the urgency of the humanitarian situation in southern Lebanon, saying: “In the face of the humanitarian emergency in southern Lebanon, France will immediately take initiatives to support the displaced Lebanese population. Our solidarity with the Lebanese people and our determination for regional stability remain at the heart of our actions.”
