Netherlands signs statement supporting freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz
Amsterdam, April 19 (Hibya) – In a statement by the Dutch Prime Minister’s Office, it was announced that the country signed the joint declaration on the Strait of Hormuz together with the United Kingdom, France, and other partners.
The Netherlands announced that it has signed the international statement supporting freedom of passage in the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement noted that the declaration demonstrates international determination to protect freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.
It emphasized that ensuring unhindered passage through the strait is critical for international trade, highlighting the need to safeguard global energy security and economic stability.
It was also stated that the parties called for the immediate and unconditional reopening of the strait and stressed the need to enhance international cooperation to ensure maritime security.
The statement added that the establishment of a defensive multinational mission to ensure the safety of commercial vessels is also on the agenda.
