Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic announced that the country's economy grew by 1.7 percent in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the same period last year.

Plenkovic said that despite changes in global conditions and rising energy prices, the economy has grown continuously since the beginning of 2021. “Although the annual growth rate has slowed, positive results are being seen across all major components of gross domestic product,” he said.

Plenkovic said government consumption, investment and exports of goods and services contributed to growth, adding that the average net wage stood at 1,555 euros in June. Plenkovic noted that they were approaching the government's target of raising the average wage to 1,600 euros by the end of its term.
