President Putin stated that during his talks with Prime Minister Modi, the two leaders comprehensively reviewed the entire spectrum of Russia–India partnership and addressed pressing global and regional issues.

Putin explained that in the Joint Statement they adopted, they identified priority tasks aimed at strengthening ties in politics and security, economy and trade, and humanitarian and cultural areas. He noted that bilateral trade increased by 12% last year, reaching a new record of around 64–65 billion dollars, and that they agreed on a Russia–India Economic Cooperation Development Program until 2030 with the goal of raising this figure to 100 billion dollars.

Putin welcomed the steady progress in switching to national currencies in bilateral trade, emphasizing that their share in commercial transactions has already reached 96%.

The Russian President added: “I would also like to point out that Russia and India traditionally maintain close military-technical cooperation. For more than half a century, our country has helped equip and modernize the Indian Armed Forces, including air defense, aviation, and naval forces.”
