Qatar participated in the meeting commemorating the 25th anniversary of the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, held as part of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.

At the meeting, where the country was represented by Sheikha Hanouf bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Director of the International Organizations Department at Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar’s full support for the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action was reaffirmed.

The meeting emphasized the importance of strengthening commitment to human rights, equality and the prevention of discrimination, as well as the values of tolerance, coexistence and respect for cultural diversity.

It was stated that Qatar would continue its national and international efforts to combat discrimination and enhance inclusion, with attention drawn to relevant initiatives and legislative measures. It was also noted that Qatar hosted the Second World Summit for Social Development in Doha in 2025 and contributed to international efforts to address inequality and exclusion.

Qatar said it would continue to support international efforts toward the full and effective implementation of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action.
