Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna made a statement regarding the arson attack on Milrem Robotics facilities in Tallinn on the night of August 14-15.

Tsahkna said that based on information gathered by the Estonian Internal Security Service, they had concluded that the attack was carried out on the orders of the Russian Federation’s special services, stating, “We can conclusively determine that the arson attack that took place at Milrem Robotics facilities in Tallinn on the night of August 14-15 was an act of sabotage carried out on the orders of the Russian Federation’s special services.”

Tsahkna said such actions were absolutely unacceptable and announced that the Estonian Foreign Ministry would summon Russia’s chargé d’affaires.

Noting that the perpetrators of the attack had been apprehended and no longer posed a threat to the country’s national security, Tsahkna said, “Estonia is a difficult environment for Russia to carry out such actions because we act decisively and swiftly to protect our state.”

Tsahkna claimed that the act of sabotage was part of a broader Russian campaign across Europe, saying, “This act of sabotage is part of Russia’s broader campaign across Europe aimed at intimidating us and weakening our support for Ukraine.”

Tsahkna said Estonia would respond by increasing its support for Ukraine and pressure on Russia, stating, “Our response will be exactly the opposite. We will increase both our support for Ukraine and the pressure on Russia to end its aggression.”

Tsahkna added, “Let us not lose focus and keep moving forward, because Russia’s actions are a clear indication that the pressure we are applying together is working.”
