Russia Says Suspect Who Shot General Detained in Dubai
Moscow, February 8 (Hibya) – According to media reports, a man in his 60s was “arrested and handed over to Russia” after fleeing to the UAE.
According to Moscow’s security service, authorities in Dubai arrested a man suspected of shooting and wounding a senior officer in Russia’s intelligence services and handed him over to Russia.
The announcement on Sunday came two days after a gunman shot Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseyev three times in the stairwell of his apartment building in Moscow, seriously wounding him.
Russian media, citing the Federal Security Service (FSB), reported that a Russian citizen named Lyubomir Korba, in his 60s, was arrested and handed over to Russia after fleeing to the United Arab Emirates.
Television footage showed masked FSB officers unloading a blindfolded man from a small jet in Russia at night. Reports said a suspected accomplice was arrested in Moscow and another fled to Ukraine.
