Palestinian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Farsin Aghabekian Shaheen held a bilateral meeting with Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty on the sidelines of the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
During the meeting, the latest political developments related to the Palestinian issue were reviewed in light of the complexity of the regional and international environment and the multiple crises surrounding the Palestinian cause. Both sides stressed the importance of continuing political and diplomatic efforts to preserve the essence of the Palestinian cause.
Minister Shaheen reviewed developments that pose a direct threat to the existing legal and historical status, in light of the unprecedented increase in settlement activities, settler attacks and crimes in the occupied Palestinian territories—particularly in the Gaza Strip and the occupied West Bank—as well as the dangers and repercussions of the (E1) plan and the repeated attacks on Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque.
