Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif commented on the steps taken to reduce tensions in the Middle East and Gulf region and the roles played by international leaders in the process.

Expressing his satisfaction with the decision, Sharif said, “I am grateful to President Donald Trump for his courageous leadership and timely announcement regarding the pause of the Freedom Project in the Strait of Hormuz.”

Highlighting regional cooperation, Prime Minister Sharif stated, “President Trump’s gracious response to the request of Pakistan and other brotherly countries, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and my dear brother, His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman, will greatly contribute to advancing regional peace, stability, and reconciliation during this sensitive period.”

Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to peaceful resolution, Sharif noted, “Pakistan remains committed to supporting all efforts that encourage the peaceful resolution of conflicts through dialogue and diplomacy and promote restraint.”

Sharif added, “We remain highly hopeful that the current momentum will lead to a lasting agreement that ensures enduring peace and stability for the region and beyond.”
