Smuggled silver jewelry seized in Bulgaria
Sofia, July 23 (Hibya) - Bulgaria's Customs Agency announced that more than two kilograms of smuggled silver jewelry were seized from a bus entering the country from Türkiye during an inspection at the Kapitan Andreevo Border Crossing.
According to the Bulgarian Customs Agency, on July 22 a bus with Turkish license plates traveling from Türkiye to Ukraine via Bulgaria was subjected to a detailed customs inspection as part of a risk analysis.
During the inspection, eight packages containing commercial quantities of white metal jewelry were found in the handbag of a female Ukrainian passenger. Expert examination determined that the jewelry was made of 925 sterling silver, with a total weight of 2,025 grams and an estimated value of 5,062.50 euros.
The statement said the silver jewelry was confiscated, while an administrative violation report was issued against the Ukrainian woman under Bulgaria's Customs Act.
