Italy’s Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani shared details of the comprehensive operation carried out to evacuate and ensure the safety of Italian citizens amid ongoing regional conflicts and the crisis environment.

Speaking about the scale and implementation of the operation, Tajani said: “Since the beginning of the war, we have helped more than 20 thousand of our citizens return to Italy. In a difficult period for the entire world, Italy set an example of efficiency.”

Noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Farnesina) was at the center of coordinating the evacuation operation, Tajani stated: “This tremendous effort was coordinated by Farnesina and made possible thanks to the dedicated work of 200 officials of the Gulf Task Force. The Carabinieri, the financial police of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, AISE and Civil Protection units also participated in the operations.”

Tajani concluded his statement with the words: “I would like to sincerely thank them all. I am proud to be their Foreign Minister for their high patriotism and the services they have rendered to the country.”
