US President Donald Trump's decision to suspend tariffs came after his phone conversation with Trudeau. During the discussion, Trudeau pledged to tighten border controls between Canada and the US to stop the flow of illegal migrants and banned drugs such as fentanyl.
Trudeau also stated that Canada plans to deploy 10,000 soldiers to secure the border and prevent money laundering.
