Speaking at an event held on the eve of the 250th anniversary of Independence Day on July 4, U.S. President Donald Trump emphasized the country's history, culture, and founding values. Highlighting America's concept of freedom, Trump said the nation's identity must be preserved.

Calling the United States "the world's oldest republic, the freest people, and the strongest nation," Trump stated, "By the grace of God, the United States of America is the most successful and the most exceptional nation in human history."

Claiming that American identity has been under attack in recent years, Trump said, "We will give our country its identity back." Describing communism as one of the greatest threats facing the United States, he added, "America will never be a communist country," and, "You can be loyal to Karl Marx or you can be loyal to America. You cannot be both."

Touching on the economy and foreign policy, Trump claimed that the country has attracted record levels of investment, saying, "Today, our country is experiencing the greatest period in its history." Referring to operations against Iran, Trump said, "We dealt Iran a heavy blow. Now they are eager to make a deal."

Concluding his speech with an optimistic message about America's future, Trump said, "After 250 years, American freedom still echoes, the American Dream is still alive. This is not the end; it is the beginning of America's golden age."
