Trump calls on Supreme Court to overturn conviction in hush money case
New York, June 4 (Hibya) - Donald Trump has called on the US Supreme Court to step in and overturn the guilty verdict in the hush money case that left him with the unwanted distinction of being the first former US president to be found guilty.
In a typical post on the Truth Social website, the presumptive Republican nominee for 2024 highlighted that the sentencing hearing, scheduled for July 11, comes just four days before the Republican national convention in Milwaukee, where his candidacy is expected to become official.
“The ‘Sentencing’ for having done nothing wrong will be conveniently for Fascists, four days before the Republican National Convention,” Trump wrote.
“Will a Soros-backed radical leftist prosecutor who ran for office saying ‘I'm going to get Trump’ report to a Democrat-appointed ‘Acting’ District Judge who is HIGHLY CONTROVERSIAL and make a decision that will determine the future of our Nation?” Trump wrote, referring to Soros.
A Manhattan jury last Thursday found the former president guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying documents to conceal his sexual relationship with adult film actress Stormy Daniels before the 2016 presidential election, which Trump won against Hillary Clinton.
