Washington, August 11 (Hibya) – United States (US) President Donald Trump criticized New York's housing tax policy and congestion pricing, arguing that the measures have led to a major exodus of taxpayers from the city.

Trump said that New York's “Pied-à-Terre Tax” had caused the city and state to lose substantial revenue, adding that tens of thousands of people who left the city had moved to Florida, Texas and other states. Trump said, “This dangerous political experiment in New York will destroy a once-great city and state.”
Arguing that congestion pricing also creates an additional burden, Trump said, “This does not work in America and must be stopped now.” Trump said the federal government was examining whether it had the legal authority to block the measures and claimed that New York's “financial and then social collapse is 100 percent certain.”
