Trump: No nuclear deal reached with Iran, blockade process for Strait of Hormuz initiated
Washington, April 12 (Hibya) - United States (US) President Donald Trump announced that no agreement was reached on the nuclear issue in talks with Iran and that new security measures amounting to a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz have been initiated.
US President Trump made a statement regarding the talks held with Iran. He said that agreement was reached on many issues, but not on the nuclear matter.
In his statement, Trump said, “The meeting went well, agreement was reached on most points, but the only really important point, the NUCLEAR, was not agreed upon.”
Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, Trump stated, “Effective immediately, the United States Navy, the best in the world, will begin the process of blockading all ships attempting to enter or exit the Strait of Hormuz.”
Trump also said, “At some point, we will reach a situation where ‘everyone will be allowed to enter, everyone will be allowed to leave.’”
Commenting on Iran, Trump said, “This is global blackmail, and country leaders, especially the United States, will never be silenced by blackmail.”
Trump added that he had instructed the US Navy to stop and inspect ships in international waters that were allegedly paying transit fees to Iran.
Regarding Iran’s mine claims, Trump said, “A major stain and lasting damage has been inflicted on the reputation of Iran and its ‘leaders.’”
Providing information about the talks held in Islamabad, Trump said the process lasted approximately 20 hours and mentioned contacts with Pakistani officials Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Shehbaz Sharif and Asim Munir.
Trump stated that on the US side, JD Vance, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner provided briefings on the process.
The Iranian delegation included Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Abbas Araghchi and Ali Bagheri. Trump concluded his statement by saying, “Iran will never have a nuclear weapon.”
