Tsahkna: As long as Russian oil and gas are financed, this terror will continue
Tallinn, April 6 (Hibya) - Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna condemned Russian attacks targeting civilians in Odesa and called for tougher sanctions on Russia’s energy revenues.
Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna issued a statement following overnight attacks in the Ukrainian city of Odesa that caused civilian casualties.
Referring to the civilian toll, Tsahkna said: “Another atrocity by Russia in Odesa. Nighttime attacks targeted homes where civilians were sleeping; a young mother, her two-year-old child, and others were killed, and many more were injured.”
Criticizing the lack of response from the international community, Tsahkna stated: “‘Deep concern’ is not enough. As long as Russian oil and gas are financed, this terror will continue.”
Tsahkna concluded: “Without new sanctions packages, we are allowing Russia to continue killing children. Silence and indifference lead to loss of life.”
