Ukrainian Foreign Minister Sybiha thanks U.S. counterpart Rubio
Kyiv, March 21 (Hibya) - Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha thanked U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio for his condolence message following the death of Patriarch Filaret, emphasizing the importance of this support for Ukraine’s struggle for spiritual independence.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha made a statement regarding the condolence and support messages received from the United States after the death of Patriarch Filaret, one of the spiritual leaders of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Minister Sybiha expressed his satisfaction with the remarks made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Referring to Patriarch Filaret’s place in Ukrainian history, Sybiha said: “I appreciate the statement made by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio following the death of Patriarch Filaret. His lifelong commitment to the cause of Ukraine’s freedom and spiritual independence will be a source of inspiration for many generations.”
Noting that the United States standing with the Ukrainian people during this difficult period strengthens solidarity between the two countries, Sybiha added: “We thank the United States for honoring his legacy and sharing our grief.”
