UN provides $1 million in emergency support for cholera outbreak in Cameroon
New York, August 13 (Hibya) - Tom Fletcher, an official with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, announced that $1 million has been allocated from the UN Global Emergency Fund to respond to the expanding cholera outbreak in Cameroon's Far North Region.
Tom Fletcher, an official with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, issued a statement on the cholera outbreak that is intensifying in Cameroon's Far North Region.
Fletcher said the outbreak continues to spread and that a large number of people are at risk.
Fletcher announced that $1 million had been allocated from the UN Global Emergency Fund as part of the response to the outbreak, adding that the support would be used for treatment services, safe water and sanitation efforts.
