UNRWA: Education in Gaza is a casualty of the war
New York, April 14 (Hibya) – The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) reported that more than 70% of schools in Gaza have been directly hit, and children have been deprived of education.
In a statement, UNRWA said that after 1.5 years of war, children in Gaza have been displaced, traumatized, and denied access to education.
According to the Global Education Cluster, over 70% of schools in Gaza have been directly attacked. The statement said:
"About 88% of schools in Gaza need to be rebuilt or undergo major repairs, including 162 UNRWA schools that once served hundreds of thousands of girls and boys."
The statement emphasized that education in Gaza is a victim of the war.
