US: More than 17,500 Americans returned to the country from the Middle East
Washington, March 4 (Hibya) - US State Department official Dylan Johnson announced that more than 17,000 American citizens have returned to the United States from the Middle East since February 28.

Emphasizing that more than 8,500 American citizens arrived just yesterday, Johnson said that some Americans leaving the Middle East went to other countries in Europe and Asia, while some citizens, although they have safely left the region, are still on their way back to the United States.
Johnson noted that the State Department has provided support to approximately 6,500 Americans abroad, including security advice and travel assistance, through a task force operating 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Johnson stated that the US State Department will continue to support American citizens who wish to leave the Middle East and that requests for assistance will be actively responded to.
