Brussels, May 11 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen announced a new 50 million euro support package to reunite Ukrainian children held by Russia with their families and stressed that this issue must be a fundamental condition of any possible peace process.

Drawing attention to the current situation, von der Leyen said: “Tens of thousands of Ukrainian children abducted by Russia continue to remain separated from their country and loved ones. We will not stop until every one of them is reunited with their family.”
Referring to the purposes of the allocated funds, von der Leyen stated: “With 50 million euros, we are backing this commitment with concrete support. We want to strengthen protection systems, provide education, and secure justice for the stolen children.”
