Von der Leyen: We will continue increasing pressure on Russia
Brussels, May 29 (Hibya) - European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made statements regarding a Russian drone targeting a civilian residential area in Romania and preparations for new sanctions.
Referring to the location of the attack, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said: "Russia's war of aggression has crossed yet another border. A Russian drone attacked a densely populated area in Romania and injured civilians. On EU territory."
Sharing a message of support for the member state, Von der Leyen stated: "We stand in full solidarity with Romania and its people."
Addressing border security and deterrence measures, the Commission President said: "As we continue strengthening our security and deterrence, especially on our eastern border, we will also continue increasing pressure on Russia."
Providing information on economic measures against Moscow, Von der Leyen said: "We are preparing the 21st sanctions package."
