The WHO noted that alcohol advertisements widely reach young people through social media, schools, and popular TV series content. It emphasized that AI-supported marketing strategies on digital platforms specifically target youth.

According to WHO data, a study revealed that 93% of young people aged 16–17 are exposed to alcohol advertisements on social media. It was stated that this could have serious effects on their consumption habits.

The statement noted that alcohol companies analyze user behavior using advanced digital tools, enabling them to develop more effective advertising strategies. It was highlighted that personalized content tailored to young users’ interests can unconsciously influence their consumption tendencies.

The WHO called on individuals to be aware of such marketing methods, stating: “Do not let marketing tricks influence your choices. Stay in control.”
