WHO: Conflicts led to serious disruption of health services
Geneva, June 6 (Hibya) - Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus announced that intense conflicts have led to a severe disruption of health services in Rafah, where tens of thousands of vulnerable people reside.
WHO Director-General Ghebreyesus stated that intense conflicts have led to a severe disruption of health services in Rafah, where tens of thousands of vulnerable people reside, saying:
"The insecurity at the Rafah border crossing and its continued closure jeopardize our ability to send materials and personnel to Gaza and its surroundings to maintain the functioning of health services, which are a lifeline for the people of Gaza."
Ghebreyesus called for a ceasefire and the protection of all civilians.
