Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova, in her remarks ahead of the nationwide holiday, drew attention to the impact of historical ties on the present day.

Referring to the importance of Victory Day, Zakharova said, “In two days, we will celebrate our most important nationwide holiday, Victory Day. May 9 is a celebration of freedom and life for all peoples across the post-Soviet geography.”

Emphasizing unity and solidarity, Spokesperson Zakharova stated, “Back then, unity brought us victory, and today it still enables us to overcome all kinds of difficulties.”
