Ukrainian President Zelensky commemorated in New York those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks carried out on September 11, 2001, on the 25th anniversary of the attacks.

In a statement on his social media account, Zelensky said he paid tribute to the memory of those who lost their lives at the site of the attack. Zelensky stated that approximately 3,000 people were killed in the attack, adding that the victims were citizens of 90 countries, including Ukrainians. The Office of the President of Ukraine also confirmed that approximately 3,000 people lost their lives in the September 11 attacks.

Zelensky described the attack as “a horrific terrorist attack that cost the lives of innocent people” and stated that terrorism is unacceptable.

In his statement, Zelensky said that those who fight terrorism and those who lost their lives in terrorist attacks will always be remembered, and conveyed his condolences for those who died.
