Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that the support provided will strengthen Ukraine’s defense capacity and energy infrastructure.

Expressing his satisfaction with Europe’s unity, Zelensky said, “I thank all European leaders for the European support package for Ukraine and the 20th sanctions package against Russia. This will truly help.”

Sharing his expectations regarding the use of the financial support and the delivery process, Zelensky stated, “We truly expect the first tranche of the €90 billion support package to be delivered as soon as possible. This money is for our army, and we are ready to use it to purchase weapons, including air defense systems.”

Zelensky added, “This is also funding that will help us prepare for winter; work to protect our energy system has already begun, and European funds will support this as well.”

Emphasizing the need to increase pressure on Russia, Zelensky called on leaders, “Please continue your efforts on sanctions against Russia.”
