Zelensky: Khmara has proven that occupiers cannot be defeated with empty promises
Kyiv, August 19 (Hibya) - Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Yevhenii Khmara, who was appointed Ukraine's Minister of Defense, would make the army's supply and defense system more effective.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the responsibilities of the new Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara and meeting the needs on the front line.
Addressing the Defense Ministry's priorities, Zelensky said: “My main task as Ukraine's Minister of Defense is to put our defense system, our production and supply system, and our system for supplying the troops on a truly effective footing.”
Stating that responding to attacks is among the priorities, Zelensky said: “This is to ensure that those defending life in Ukraine have everything they need to repel Russian attacks, hold our positions on the front line and conduct our active operations.”
Highlighting Khmara's experience in his previous role, President Zelensky concluded: “Through his service at the SSU's Alpha Special Operations Center, Yevhenii Khmara has proven that he does not make empty statements and understands very well that occupiers cannot be defeated with empty promises.”
