Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia carried out a drone attack on one of Kyiv’s universities while classes were in session. Zelensky said 160 students were in a shelter during the attack and that none of them were harmed.

Zelensky said an ordinary residential building and city infrastructure were damaged in overnight attacks on Odesa, adding that 5 people, including a child, were injured.

Zelensky said a building used by first responders and police was struck in Kherson, while thousands of people were left without electricity and injuries were reported in the Kharkiv region following an attack.

Noting that air raid alerts continue in many regions due to the threat of jet-powered drones and aerial bombs, Zelensky said the response from the world and influential leaders to the recent escalation in Russian attacks has been insufficient.

Zelensky said the uninterrupted terror being carried out across Europe by Russian- and Iranian-made “Shahed” drones cannot be regarded solely as Ukraine’s problem, arguing that the tactics Russia uses in its attacks on Ukraine are methods it is preparing to use against other countries and peoples.

Stating that the time has come to act, Zelensky said air defense systems, sanctions against Russia and a significant increase in defense production are needed to put pressure on Russia and assist Ukraine.

Zelensky thanked those who support Ukraine.
