Zelensky: We need to accelerate the increase in electricity imports
Kyiv, January 17 (Hibya) – Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the increase in electricity imports and the procurement of additional equipment from partners must be accelerated as much as possible.
President Zelensky stated that he held a special meeting on energy coordination, during which issues related to coping with the aftermath of Russian attacks and implementing decisions to strengthen the resilience of cities and communities were discussed.
Noting that the most difficult situation is in Kyiv, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia and their surroundings, Zelensky said: “After last night’s strike in the Kyiv region, additional challenges emerged for Hostomel, Bucha and Irpin; all necessary services were activated. The situation in Odesa also needs to be resolved during the day. There are also reports concerning the Chernihiv, Sumy, Poltava and Dnipro regions.”
Zelensky added that he had ordered a separate review of buildings in Kyiv that still do not have heating systems.
Emphasizing the need to accelerate the increase in electricity imports and the procurement of additional equipment from partners as much as possible, Zelensky said: “All decisions on this matter have already been taken, and the increase in imports must continue without delay. Separate instructions have been given to the Ukrainian Minister of Defense regarding Air Force operations and the protection of airspace.”
