Al Misnad met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Grandi
Geneva, February 25 (Hibya) – Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misnad, met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi during the 58th session of the Human Rights Council in Geneva.
The meeting discussed cooperation between the State of Qatar and the UNHCR, as well as ways to support and enhance it, particularly Qatar’s support for the Commission’s activities and programs, and the latest developments in the region, especially in Gaza, the occupied Palestinian territories, and Syria. In this context, both sides emphasized the need to support Syrians in returning home and delivering necessary aid.
The parties also discussed the importance of international joint efforts to assist refugees and displaced persons forced to flee their homes due to wars.
