Ukrainian President Zelensky held a meeting with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and EU Council President Antonio Costa.

Zelensky emphasized that they discussed the development of Ukraine’s defense industry, particularly investments aimed at enhancing long-range capabilities. He stated: "We have a shared understanding that achieving a just and lasting peace for Ukraine and ensuring security guarantees require Europe's unity. As the war continues and Russia has no intention of ending it fairly, we and our partners must be ready to defend Ukraine with strength."

Zelensky also noted that they discussed Ukraine’s progress in EU accession negotiations. "I eagerly await the swift opening of the first 'Foundations' package. Thank you for being with us in Ukraine today," he said.
