Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said he accompanied Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit and commented on his meetings with officials from various countries during the summit.

In a post on social media, Araghchi said that during his meetings with officials from Eurasia, China and South Asia, he conveyed Iran’s position regarding its sovereign rights.

Araghchi said he expressed the need for unity in those meetings to “manage the collapse of a sick Empire”.

In his assessment of the future of the international system, Araghchi said, “More than ever, the future is multipolar and multilateral.”
