Carney: It will be the largest graphite mine in the G7
Ottawa, May 19 (Hibya) - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced that they had broken ground on Nouveau Monde Graphite’s Matawinie Mine just six months after submitting it to the Major Projects Office, stating that the project will become the largest graphite mine in the G7.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney made a statement regarding the new investment that will contribute to the country’s mining and industrial infrastructure.
Highlighting the speed and scale of the project, Carney said, “We are breaking ground on Nouveau Monde Graphite’s Matawinie Mine — just six months after submitting the project to the Major Projects Office. This will be the largest graphite mine in the G7.”
Speaking about the economic benefits of the investment, Prime Minister Carney stated, “It will create more than a thousand job opportunities, mobilize nearly 2 billion dollars in investment, and build a stronger, more independent Canadian economy.”
