Jetten made statements on key agenda items during the weekly press conference held after the cabinet meeting.

Jetten stated that discussions with representatives of workers and employers focused on the future of the country's social security system. He noted that reform efforts aimed at ensuring the sustainability of the system are continuing.

Addressing migration policies, Jetten emphasized the importance of the settlement law known as the “Spreidingswet,” stating that the regulation is intended to reduce overcrowding, particularly at the reception center in Ter Apel.

It was also reported that the cabinet approved two new climate-related decisions during the meeting. These measures are aimed at strengthening emission reduction efforts and green transition policies in line with the Netherlands’ climate objectives.

Jetten stressed that the government will continue to pursue a balanced policy regarding the future of the social system, as well as the challenges of migration and the climate crisis.
