Herzog: Yehuda Katz returned home after 44 years
Jerusalem, August 18 (Hibya) - Israeli President Isaac Herzog announced that soldier Yehuda Katz, who went missing during the Battle of Sultan Yacoub, will be brought back to Israel after 44 years.
Herzog said, “After 44 years of waiting, pain and longing, missing soldier Yehuda Katz has returned home and will be laid to rest in the land of Israel.”
Noting that Yehuda Katz's family had fought for years to bring their son back to Israel, Herzog said, “Israel did not forget him and will never forget its sons.” Herzog also conveyed his condolences and support to the Katz family.
Herzog thanked the government, the military, Mossad, the security forces and other officials who worked for years to bring Katz back to Israel.
