Deniz polisinden Adalar çevresinde 'deniz taksi' denetimi

The IDF announced that it has established a steering committee to examine issues related to commemorating fallen soldiers and preserving their legacy within units and military bases.

In its statement, the IDF said: “The committee was established in response to needs that emerged following the war, which require these areas within the IDF to be addressed מחדש, sensitively and comprehensively.” It added that the committee will work on regulating forms of commemoration and expressions of legacy in units and military camps.

The statement noted that the committee will operate under the leadership of retired Brigadier General Ofir Levyos, and includes experts in the field, commanders, representatives of the Ministry of Defense, and representatives of organizations representing bereaved families.

The IDF stated that the committee began its work last December and continues to prepare recommendations regarding the commemoration and legacy of fallen IDF soldiers within the military framework.

According to the statement, the committee’s findings and recommendations will be presented in the coming months to the Head of Human Resources, the managers of the Families, Commemoration and Heritage Unit at the Ministry of Defense, and subsequently submitted for approval to the Director General of the Ministry of Defense, the Chief of Staff, and the Minister of Defense.

The IDF and the Ministry of Defense emphasized the importance of involving bereaved families in planning and evaluation processes, noting that families will be invited to open days upon request to share their views and suggestions.

The statement concluded: “The IDF regards preserving the legacy and memory of its fallen soldiers as a supreme moral and ethical responsibility, reflecting its deep commitment to its fallen and their families,” and affirmed that it will continue to support bereaved families and share in their grief.
