Kazakh Foreign Minister Kosherbayev received U.S. Deputy Secretary of State Kapur.

During the meeting in Astana, the parties assessed the current state of bilateral cooperation and prospects for further strengthening the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States.

Kosherbayev provided information on the ongoing political and socioeconomic transformations in Kazakhstan, noting that the country had entered a new stage of development. In this context, it was stated that the Kurultay elections scheduled for August 23 would be an important stage in the implementation of the new constitutional model.

The U.S. side, meanwhile, reaffirmed its interest in further strengthening cooperation and noted significant potential for expanding cooperation in energy, critical minerals, advanced technologies, digitalization, transportation and investment.

The meeting also addressed Kazakhstan's initiative to strengthen global water resources management and President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev's proposal to establish an International Water Organization as a specialized body within the United Nations.

The parties also reviewed preparations for the G20 Summit to be held in Miami in December 2026, which President Tokayev will attend at the invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump. Both sides said they were ready to contribute to efforts to develop a concrete high-level agenda.
