Merz: Tariff threats weaken transatlantic relations
Berlin, January 18 (Hibya) – German Chancellor Friedrich Merz stated that Germany is acting in full coordination with Denmark and Greenland regarding Arctic security and global trade policies.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz made remarks on the future of security cooperation and economic relations among NATO allies.
Commenting on the issue, Chancellor Merz said, “We are acting in unity and coordination with the people of Denmark and Greenland. As a NATO member, we are determined to strengthen Arctic security as a shared transatlantic interest.”
Referring to economic tensions and tax debates among allies, Merz added, “Tariff threats weaken transatlantic relations and carry the risk of triggering a dangerous downward spiral.”
