Palestinian Minister of State Shahin Meets Swiss Foreign Minister Cassis
Geneva, February 24 (Hibya) - Palestinian Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Farsin Aghabekian Shahin, met with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis on the sidelines of the high-level session of the 58th Human Rights Council meeting.
During the meeting, Minister Shahin briefed Minister Cassis on the latest developments in the occupied Palestinian territories, the recent attacks and crimes committed by the occupiers in the West Bank, and the continued forced displacement of the Palestinian people.
He emphasized that the State of Palestine rejects forced displacement and that countries must take all necessary measures in accordance with their obligations under international law.
Dr. Shahin also stressed the irreplaceable role of UNRWA, noting that its existence is linked to resolving the Palestinian refugee issue and ensuring their right to return.
Cassis confirmed his country's interest in organizing the conference, stressing that the declaration should be balanced and not affect ceasefire efforts in Gaza.
