Schoof: We are in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland
Amsterdam, January 18 (Hibya) – Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof announced a joint statement issued on behalf of Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom.
Sharing the joint declaration published by Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and the United Kingdom, Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof highlighted the allies’ determination in the Arctic region and their stance against economic threats.
Emphasizing the shared transatlantic interest of NATO member states in strengthening Arctic security, Schoof said: “The pre-coordinated Danish exercise ‘Arctic Endurance’, conducted together with allies, responds to this necessity. It poses no threat to anyone. We are in full solidarity with the Kingdom of Denmark and the people of Greenland.”
Referring to the process launched last week and stating that they are ready for dialogue based on the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, Schoof said regarding tariff discussions: “Tariff threats weaken transatlantic relations and carry the risk of a dangerous downward spiral. We will continue to act with unity and coordination in our response. We are determined to protect our sovereignty.”
