Statement from the Palestinian Foreign Ministry on violence in the West Bank
Ramallah, March 22 (Hibya) - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates condemned organized attacks carried out by settler militias in the West Bank, arguing that these acts constitute a coordinated “division of roles” with the Israeli army and amount to a war crime.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates issued a statement regarding escalating violence by settlers in various parts of the occupied West Bank.
The statement emphasized the nature of the attacks: “Crimes and terrorism committed by settlers are the result of deliberate tactics and a division of roles in the war of annihilation against the Palestinian people. Attacks on villages during the blessed Eid al-Fitr, the burning of homes, and the killing of civilians constitute systematic terrorism supported by Israeli occupation authorities and the army.”
The statement added that Israel is using other regional conflicts (Israel–U.S.–Iran) as a shield to carry out these acts: “Our diplomatic efforts to ensure international protection for the Palestinian people and to hold the colonial system accountable will continue with determination.”
The Ministry called on the international community not to limit itself to condemnations but to take concrete steps such as disarming settlers and freezing their presence.
