Sybiha stated that the shock wave following Russia’s large-scale attack on Kyiv damaged the façade of the unique 11th-century Saint Sophia Cathedral, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

He emphasized that Russia’s attacks threaten not only civilians but also the most precious global cultural heritage, saying, “Such barbarism puts Russia on the same level as ISIS and other vile heritage destroyers.”

Sybiha added, “We strongly call on UNESCO and the international community to respond. These crimes must be condemned, and Russia should be expelled from all international forums.”
