According to CCTV, U.S. President Donald Trump said on Friday that he is considering a “gradual reduction” of U.S. military strikes against Iran and that the United States is “very close” to achieving its objectives.

Among the objectives listed by Trump are:

“Weakening Iran’s missile capability, destroying its defense industry infrastructure, neutralizing its naval and air forces, completely preventing it from approaching nuclear capability, and protecting U.S. allies in the region.”

President Trump also said on Friday that he does not want a ceasefire with Iran. Trump stated, “Dialogue is possible, but I do not want a ceasefire.”

Trump also said that the security of the Strait of Hormuz should be ensured by the countries using it and that the U.S. would provide support if requested.
